Course Style
When you hire Bournemouth Business Software for your IT training program, don't expect anything to be "ordinary". Instead you should expect an extraordinary breakthrough in your staff productivity. We do not provide run-of-the-mill classroom based training. Our courses are pacey, full of well-prepared demonstrations, exciting and entertaining. This is live edu-tainment, brought right to your place of business and delivered to your staff members on your own site. By working with smaller groups, usually between 6 and 12 delegates, it is possible to provide individual support, along side the benefits of group learning.
All courses include:
- a course book
- a slide-based presentation
- live demonstrations
- practical hands-on exercises
- discussion oportunities
|
- individual practice of the material covered
- resources to follow up for further information
- 3 months follow-up phone and/or remote desktop support
- overview maps of the topics covered
|
In addition there may also be some use of audio-visual material where this is useful. If desirable, instructional portions of courses may be video taped for review by course graduates at a later date. This materials can then be viewed on line via our web site. For standard office application training, we typically provide courses at 3 levels, which we have named
-
Guided Tour (a level 1 type course),
-
Familiarisation (level 2), and
-
Power User (level 3).
However there is nothing set in stone with these levels. Because of our commitment to training that meets the needs of your staff, we are happy to design a set of courses that address the exact needs of your company's specific circumstances and requirements. And because all our trainers are familiar with these products right up to the level of customised development and integration, there really is no limit to depth of knowledge we can provide to your staff. Get ready to see an unprecedented increase in your staff productivity.
Who is your course leader?
How many software training companies do you know, that tell you before you book a course the credentials of the person who will be leading it? While many training companies will try to convince you that all their course leaders are equally proficient, the truth is that some are much more effective course leaders than others, some know the subject of the course in much greater depth than others, and some are much more effective at conceptual communication than others. When you hire us, you know what you're getting. Our course leaders have 15-20 years experience designing and delivering technical training courses, in particular targetting the Microsoft windows platform.
The economics of IT Training
Training agencies typically put at least 100% on top of whatever they are paying their course leaders, so where as they would typically pay a course leader £300-£400 per day for an average IT course, they would typically charge a customer £600-£800 per day. In many cases it can be even more, as they tend to charge additions per delegate, so for a course with 12 delegates a surcharge of £50 per delegate per day over 6 delegates is often charged. You can see that in a training contract of (lets say) 100 employees doing one 3day course each with 6 delegates in each course, a saving of around £20,000 can be made by hiring the course leader directly. Mostly the only thing that the training company is doing for this extra money is managing its own administration. In other words when you hire a training agency, you are mostly paying double the money you need to, and getting no extra benefit. Of course this saving is only achievable if you happen to know a really good I.T. trainer, or a number of really good I.T. trainers... ;-) Now I expect you don't think your "training company" is a training agency, right? ... Wrong. Most training companies are training agencies. To keep full time staff who have in depth knowledge of specific subjects just ready to train a course that comes up 3 or 4 days per month is not economic for any one. This is why most software trainers are freelance, and it actually doesn't really make any difference if you hire them via the training agency or hire them directly. The alternative is that IT training companies keep a number of on staff trainers who teach just about any subject they are asked to. But the truth is about these generalists is that they don't know any subject in very much depth. Now why should you trust me about this? I have been working in the IT development and training industry for 15 years and I have seen how this all fits together. Also my services come with a guarantee. If you are not more than completely satisfied you will pay nothing for trying out our services. Call me now on 07957 203512 or invite me to come visit you to discuss the savings you can make in your IT Training budget. Just think you could get twice as much training for your staff from the same budget. What is that going to do for the productivity of your organisation?
